EIS Glycerin Product Grades EIS currently offers
several
Grades
of
Glycerin,
most
of
which
are
derived
by the
production
of biodiesel.
Crude
Glycerin:
Crude
Glycerin
is a
rough
cut of
glycerol
that
generally
contains
significant
amounts
of
methanol,
water,
MONG,
salts
&
soaps.
Crude
Glycerin
may
contain
from
40 to
80 %
glycerin,
with a
high
degree
of
variability
from
one
manufacturer
to the
next. EIS
has
many
Crude
Glycderin products
available.
However,
since
products
are so
diverse,
please
consult
an EIS
representative
to
meet
your
specific
needs.
Crude
products
have limited applications, including
for
further
refining
and/or
use as
fuel.

Partially
Refined:
Partially
Refined
Glycerin
is
glycerin
that
has
been
further
processed
beyond
crude
to
remove
methanol,
neutralize the product, reduce
water,
and
reduce MONG.
This
grade
is
light to dark amber
in
color
and
can be
used
in many industrial processes or may
be further refined.
Some
of
these
products
are
Kosher
and
are
suitable
for
use in
the
production
of
other Kosher
products and derivatives.

Near-Technical
Grade:
Near Tech Grade glycerin is differentiated
from Partially Refined in that most of the salts (ash) have been removed,
the glycerin purity is 95+% and the product has a much lighter color.
While these products are not true technical grade products, they are much
higher quality than Partially Refined and is still substantially discounted
from Technical Grade.
